PAYMENTS FOR ECOSYSTEM SERVICES – WHAT IS THIS??

Our work is full of jargon and it’s all too easy to give complicated and lengthy explanations. Here’s a great short video explaining what ‘Payments for Ecosystem Services’ actually means, and how it can work. This is the principle behind the Catchment Based Approach in the UK and is an aspiration for our work as part of the East Suffolk Catchments Partnership.

If you take this example and apply it to water or flood management, that’s what we are trying to do! Safeguard rural incomes but at the same tackle problems that face communities and businesses in river catchments.
