Here’s a clear example of what can happen when it rains hard over vulnerable soils. This is a lose-lose situation with valuable soil and nutrients leaving the farm, ending up in the river. In many cases this simply doesn’t have to be the case and it’s something we would always try to work with farmers to avoid. Check out our work in the Sandlings and Deben valley in East Suffolk which is trying to prevent similar situations from arising on the light soils in this area.
